Maruti Suzuki will add 2 new cars and both will be BSVI petrol engines in 2019. Both might be replacements of cars like Alto. New cars means, company will not do any parts update or face-lift.
These two completely new additions are expected to be in mini segment. However, it’s only expectation and company has not revealed any news yet.
Following the BSVI norms – Cleaner Fuel Standard
The new BSVI petrol engine equipped cars will be able to run on BSIV fuel also, because lack of BSVI fuels currently. Right now, Delhi-NCR regions are getting the low sulfur BSVI fuel.
As BSVI will become mandatory for the auto industry, it seems Maruti Suzuki is fueling it’s range of BSVI compliant vehicles. According to the Maruti Suzuki plan, all other cars will be BSVI petrol engine by December 2019.
BSVI engines are becoming mandatory in Delhi-NCR region. But in future, it is sure rest of India will get soon BSVI norms. Government have decided to skip the BSV standard. European and other countries are following low pollutants fuel standard like Euro 6 for light passenger and commercial vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki other models like WagonR , which will be BSIV equipped, will be launched in January or February 2019. Baleno and Vitara Brezza also getting their face-lifts change in 2019 models.
Switching to cleaner fuel is plan to make environment clean and healthy. Other side the cleaner the fuel. Increment in the price can be expected due to addition of BSVI features, however may be not high but around ₹10,000 additional.
